What is Brainspotting?

"Where you look affects how you feel."

Brainspotting or BSP is a revolutionary brain based therapy developed by David Grand, PhD. that has proven to be effective in addressing various psychological issues more so than talk-based therapies alone.  It is a relational, brain-body, and mindfulness based therapeutic intervention.

This new therapy approach helps the client process at a deeper level by identifying, processing, and releasing “capsules”[1] of emotional pain, trauma, and a variety of other challenging symptoms stored in the brain. It engages regions of the brain that are usually not addressed within traditional therapeutic models.

BSP has been used to address various issues including (but not limited to):

  • Trauma/Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Emotional dysregulation and more

Dr. Jacqueline Guevara has received training in Brainspotting

including completing Phase I and Phase II.
