Dr. Jacqueline Guevara
With over 10 years of clinical social work and psychotherapy experience, I have developed a passion for helping others and providing hope. I specialize in serving the Latinx community and other underserved communities of color in finding healing from trauma, depression, anxiety, and drug abuse. I work with compassion, empathy, and am non-judgmental, while creating a safe space for you to explore and understand. You'll gain what you need to live your best life and come to realize that you are so much more than a diagnostic label.
In addition, my approach is to work with you collaboratively to understand your thoughts and emotions while building upon powerful tools to manage your mental health. We will work together to understand your triggers and thoughts that negatively impact your mental health. So regardless of what you are dealing with, I am a true believer that you can move forward and heal. I look forward to helping you get your life back and to feeling empowered.
No two clients are alike therefore I have been trained in and use different modalities of treatment to meet your needs:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
My work experience includes multiple social work roles within Fairfax County Government agencies as well as within the Prince William County and Fairfax County Public Schools setting.
I provide telemental health treatment (online mental health counseling), through a HIPAA compliant video-platform used via computer/cell phone so that I am able to meet a client where it’s convenient for them to receive care, and I’m currently accepting new referrals!
